Happy New Year from Japan

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2012.
The 'Year of the Dragon' sees PDS move into its 6th year of operation with our Director, Peter McCurdy, making a return trip to see family in Niseko on the island of Hokkaido, Japan.
After a devastating Tsunami left a trail of destruction on the main island of Honshu on the 11th March 2011, Niseko is reportedly seeing one of its strongest snow seasons in many years. Low snow falls in both the US and Europe are seeing a growing number of visitors return for the world renown 'Powder Snow' that Niseko is famous for.
For those seeking an excellent ski and/or snowboard holiday, I would strongly recommend a trip to Hakuba and Shiga Kogen in Nagano (out of Tokyo) or Furano, Niseko or Rusutsu (on the island of Hokkaido). After visiting Niseko for the last 5 winters, I have come very fond of the area and for an older snowboarder love the snow over that offered in Australia.
For accommodation I would recommend 'The Vale Niseko' or the 'Setsumon', both managed by NISADE, http://www.nisekoalpineaccommodation.com.
We trust 2012 is prosperous for all.
